Electronic Updates
MercuryGate allows 3PLs to get data in the system in whatever format possible. Users may upload spreadsheets, provide robust system-to-system communication via any format. MercuryGate even allows logistics providers to send EDI information out to each customer in a format they require. Thus customers may send a 3PL a tender request (204) and the system responds as appropriate with a tender acceptance, etc. Tracking messages may be sent to the customer in a EDIFACT, EDI 214 or XML format as messages are received from each carrier. Additionally electronic invoices may be sent to a customer as an EDI 210 format or XML format as desired and at the appropriate trigger event such as receipt of a POD, etc. These a simply examples of the complex event-triggered messaging that a 3PL may use with their customer and carriers.
