This logistics experience has been combined with the best top-notch I/T professionals to deliver a practical and effective solution for transportation management.
The MercuryGate team brings a unique perspective and experience set to the development of the MercuryGate Transportation Management Suite. They have worked closely with executives from all areas of the logistics market on requirements for design of transportation management solutions. They possess a practical, ground-up, hands-on working knowledge in the areas that MercuryGate addresses. This experience includes roles such as: operations, development, project management, operations research, consulting, product management, marketing and others, all in the logistics arena. This process has allowed the rapid development of an effective solution combined with a high degree of user acceptance and satisfaction. This is a team that understands the transportation management market from the bottom up and the top down.
Monica B. Wooden - CEO and Co-founder
Monica B. Wooden, is a dynamic leader and skilled strategist, who has "done it before". As Executive Vice President of the Americas for a global company, she grew the business from $8M in revenue to $26M during her three-year tenure (1997-1999), contributing significant profits to the parent company. As an executive for nine years with IBM, Ms. Wooden created new business ventures that were deployed worldwide. Ms. Wooden achieved her success by continuously delivering highly successful business solutions for clients, while building a high level of customer satisfaction. She has the experience to drive solutions to the marketplace with value propositions addressed to prospective customers, key potential alliance partners and industry leaders. Steve Blough - President and Co-founder
Steven Blough, was a Custom Application Development Competency Leader for IBM Global Services. He led domestic and international consulting engagements for clients with supply chain management initiatives. Combining industry knowledge with his technology background, Mr. Blough re-engineers logistics business processes and transforms complex business requirements into innovative designs for information systems. As chief architect, Mr. Blough designed a communications and data platform to enable supply chain participants to collaborate on a real-time basis to manage transportation needs. Mr. Blough has over 20 years of experience in the design, development, and integration of supply chain information systems that have resulted in dramatically lower logistics costs for his client companies. techman@mercurygate.com
Edward R. (Dick) Johnston - Managing Director
Dick Johnston, is a leader with over thirty years of experience in Information Technology and a proven record of surpassing customer expectations. Mr. Johnston is an executive of high integrity and intelligence who has created strong working relationships with clients and teams, based on honest, clear communication, trust, and respect. Mr. Johnston has the ability to grasp the underlying issues of business problems and to communicate strategic solutions. Brian Armieri - Chief Technology Officer
Brian Armieri is Chief Technology Officer of MercuryGate International. Brian joined MercuryGate in 2002 and has 20 years experience in leading-edge technology initiatives. As a hands-on and directly involved CTO, he coordinates MercuryGate's efforts on both day-to-day activities and longer-term research efforts, and helps to ensure quality and consistency across MercuryGate's emerging products and technologies. Before his appointment as CTO, Brian served as President of Nexien Corp., a consulting group providing expertise, outsourcing, and training services based on Sun Microsystems' Java2 Enterprise Edition platform. As President Brian assisted Fortune 500 companies such as Bank of America and Wachovia in strategically applying Java technologies for enterprise systems integration, B2B e-commerce, and custom systems development. Brian's long career as a consultant has given him experience in a wide range of industries including finance, insurance, health care, higher education, and government. Brian received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Cornell University in 1990 and a master's degree in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1994.
Jon Kuerschner – Vice President, Marketing and Product Support
Jon brings nearly 20 years of logistics experience in the marketing, design, development, sales and support of supply chain systems. Prior to joining MercuryGate, Jon was instrumental in the growth and success of several organizations in the SCE space – with his expertise in the translation of client/market need into business solutions that deliver high ROI. Jon received a B.S. from Northern Michigan University in 1990 and a M.S. from the University of Wisconsin in 1993.
Lorne Berman - Chief Technical Architect
Lorne Berman joined MercuryGate in 2002 and has 15 years experience in building highly scalable infrastructures and software components. At Nexien Corp., he developed key architecture components for new financial systems at Bank of America and First Union (Wachovia). Lorne also performed as server and database administrator for two large multi-client datacenters at Accenture (Andersen) Consulting. Lorne received a B.S. in Physics from M.I.T. in 1990 and served as a nuclear submarine officer aboard the USS Philadelphia through 1995.
Brad McPhail - Vice President, Implementations
Brad McPhail is Vice President of Implementations and has over fifteen years of experience in the Supply Chain, Logistics and Transportation industries. Prior to joining MercuryGate, Brad was a Director of Logistics Systems at Langham, a third party logistics company, where he was responsible for implementation of customized supply chain solutions for several of their major accounts. He has implemented solutions for companies such as Pepsico, ConAgra Foods, Simon Property Group, and Eli Lilly and Company. Jim Geer – Vice President, Solutions
Jim Geer brings 25 years of transportation and network technology experience to Mercury Gate as the Vice President of Solutions. He knows the transportation industry from the ground up. He has managed several transportation companies, has developed software for the transportation industry, and has a very successful track record of transportation software installations. Jim parlayed his unique experiences into a successful career by implementing transportation management systems for a number of agencies, including a division of the United States Department of Defense, UPS, Reser's Fine Foods, and other retail, manufacturing, and logistics companies. Prior to joining Mercury Gate, Jim was a Senior Business Consultant for Infor Global Solutions, where he was responsible for both sales and implementation. Previously, he was a Director of Clients Services for ShipLogix.
