The leadership team brings a unique perspective and experiences to the delivery of the MercuryGate suite of products. They have worked closely with executives from all areas of the logistics market on requirements for the design of our global transportation management solutions. Each member of the team possesses a practical knowledge in the logistics areas that MercuryGate addresses. Their expertise covers operations, development, project management, operations research, consulting, product management, marketing as well as others – all in the logistics arena. This is a team that understands the transportation management market from the bottom up and the top down.
Monica B. Wooden – CEO and Co-founder
Monica B. Wooden is a dynamic leader and skilled strategist, who has “done it before”. As Executive Vice President of the Americas for a global company, she grew the business 300% during her three-year tenure (1997-1999), contributing significant profits to the parent company. As an executive for nine years with IBM, Ms. Wooden created new business ventures that were deployed worldwide. Ms. Wooden achieved her success by continuously delivering highly successful business solutions for clients, while building a high level of customer satisfaction. She has the experience to drive solutions to the marketplace with value propositions addressed to prospective customers, key potential alliance partners and industry leaders. Ms. Wooden is a leader who supports clients to meet their strategic goals, while overcoming the demands of a rapidly changing marketplace.
Steve Blough – President and Co-founder
Steven Blough was a Custom Application Development Competency Leader for IBM Global Services. He led domestic and international consulting engagements for clients with supply chain management initiatives. Combining industry knowledge with his technology background, Mr. Blough re-engineers logistics business processes and transforms complex business requirements into innovative designs for information systems. As chief architect, Mr. Blough designed a communications and data platform to enable supply chain participants to collaborate on a real-time basis to manage transportation needs. Mr. Blough has over 25 years of experience in the design, development, and integration of supply chain information systems that have resulted in dramatically lower logistics costs for his client companies.
Lynn Casey – Chief Financial Officer
Lynn Casey has more than 20 years of experience in accounting and finance serving as controller, treasurer and chief financial officer for both public and private companies, specializing in information technology and media. Prior to her current position at MercuryGate, she provided financial planning and analysis, merger and acquisition and accounting services for a range of clients from startups to Fortune 500 companies. She began her finance career with one of the Big 4 accounting firms.
Brian Armieri – Chief Technology Officer
Brian joined MercuryGate in 2002 and has 25 years of experience in leading-edge technology initiatives. As a hands-on and directly involved CTO, he coordinates MercuryGate’s efforts on both day-to-day activities and longer-term research efforts, and helps to ensure quality and consistency across MercuryGate’s emerging products and technologies. Before his appointment as CTO, Brian served as President of Nexien Corp., a consulting group providing expertise, outsourcing, and training services based on Sun Microsystems’ Java2 Enterprise Edition platform. As President, Brian assisted Fortune 500 companies such as Bank of America and Wachovia in strategically applying Java technologies for enterprise systems integration, B2B e-commerce, and custom systems development. Brian’s long career as a consultant has given him experience in a wide range of industries including finance, insurance, health care, higher education, and government. Brian received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cornell University in 1990 and a master’s degree in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1994.
Lorne Berman – Chief Technical Architect
Lorne Berman joined MercuryGate in 2002 and has 15 years of experience in building highly scalable infrastructures and software components. At Nexien Corp., he developed key architecture components for new financial systems at Bank of America and First Union (Wachovia). Lorne also performed as server and database administrator for two large multi-client datacenters at Accenture (Andersen) Consulting. Lorne received a B.S. in Physics from M.I.T. in 1990 and served as a nuclear submarine officer aboard the USS Philadelphia through 1995.
Dan Vertachnik – EVP & Chief Commercial Officer
Dan is responsible for global sales & marketing, and for the company’s international expansion and growth. Prior to joining MercuryGate, Dan served in senior leadership positions in the technology sector with RMI, Red Prairie and i2 Technologies and in the carrier and 3PL sector with such companies as NFI/National Freight, Inc., and The Dart Group. Dan has extensive experience leading all aspects of Supply Chain Execution and Transportation Software business groups including, sales, marketing, R&D, consulting services and strategic acquisitions. He has a business degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Kevin LoGuidice – Vice President, Integrated Solutions
Kevin joined MercuryGate in 2002 and has over 15 years of experience building and integrating large-scale enterprise systems across a wide range of industries including higher-education, finance, healthcare, logistics and materials handling. As a principal partner at Nexien Corp, a consulting services firm, he has helped companies such as Wachovia, Bank of America, BCE Emergis, and Cornell University strategically apply and incorporate contemporary software engineering principles, practices and technologies to develop leading-edge applications for today’s markets. He is an effective manager and comprehensive thinker who can lead and motivate teams to overcome business challenges. His unique combination of design, development and integration experience allows customers to quickly and inexpensively integrate new B2B cloud-based business relationships, thereby producing new revenue opportunities and millions of dollars in cost savings.
Ronny Kemp – Vice President, Consulting
Ronny is a results oriented leader with extensive application development experience and proven success in managing people and tasks for information technology projects across various industries. Ronny joined MercuryGate in 2010 and has over 15 years of experience in team building, planning, execution and control of large-scale software projects. He manages the resources, release schedules and quality assurance of software deployment process to ensure projects are delivered successfully. Prior to joining MercuryGate, Ronny had been with Sapiens Americas since 1998 as a Director of Professional Services and Sr. Project Manager responsible for all aspects of the delivery organization. He has also served as a Sr. Systems Administrator for Toyota Motor Credit Corporation. Ronny has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Business Communications from Mount Saint Mary’s College and a Masters Certificate in IT Project Management from George Washington University.
Jeffrey Godwin – Vice President, Client Services
Jeffrey is responsible for project/program management for TMS implementations and the MercuryGate Implementation Methodology. He has over twenty years of experience in supply chain, logistics and transportation. Prior to joining MercuryGate, Jeffrey held various leadership positions, including line management, services management, engineering/consulting, and account management, with shippers, logistics services providers and management consultancies. In his previous roles, Jeffrey has designed, implemented and managed solutions for over 50 companies including DuPont, Philips, Sony, Baxter International, Johnson & Johnson, Cooper Industries, The Kroger Company and Whirlpool. Jeffrey has a Master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.
Kevin Holmes – Vice President, Enterprise Solutions
Kevin Holmes brings a unique perspective having served as a client, consultant and vendor over his career. He has 20 years of experience in Supply Chain operations and technology; ranging from Warehouse and Transportation Operations Management to systems implementations. Kevin has performed multiple technology selections and implementations including WMS, TMS, LMS, ERP, and RFID. He has developed and implemented both national and international solutions across multiple platforms for customers such as: Owens Corning, Revlon, Novamex, Ryder Logistics, Brightpoint and OHL amongst others. Before joining MercuryGate, Kevin served as the Chief Managing Partner for Cliffside Solutions, a consulting firm specializing in Logistics software selection and implementation as well as operational consulting and IT alignment and support.
