CED Names MercuryGate Winner Top North Carolina Companies To Watch

Cary, NC – August 8, 2011 – CED, a private, nonprofit organization that promotes entrepreneurial efforts in North Carolina, has named MercuryGate International Inc. as one of 25 winners for the second annual North Carolina Companies To Watch awards, honoring growth-stage entrepreneurial companies that demonstrate high performance in the marketplace, exhibit innovative products or display other unique qualities that make them "worth watching."

North Carolina Companies To Watch is presented in partnership with the Edward Lowe Foundation and is made possible through the support of title sponsors Cherry Bekaert & Holland and Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton. This program recognizes the impact that second-stage, entrepreneurial companies make on the marketplace and on the economy.

MercuryGate revenues grew to $16 million for the trailing 12 months that ended July 31, 2011, a 39% increase over $11 million for the prior 12 month period. The company has doubled its number of employees in the past 12 months to its current headcount of 70. The growth has necessitated office space expansion at its North Carolina headquarters. In October, the company will relocate to new offices at 100 Regency Forest Drive in Cary.

MercuryGate's renowned customer focus culminates each year with an annual user conference to share product plans and ideas for enhancements. This year's conference will be held in Las Vegas at the end of August with more than 200 attendees from more than 100 companies. Additionally, MercuryGate serves as the Platinum Sponsor of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Annual Conference held this year in Philadelphia in October.

MercuryGate understands that increased success drives increased societal responsibilities. Not only does MercuryGate support a wide variety of local and national charities by way of donations, it also empowers employees to serve their communities. In a recent event coordinated with the help of The Homecoming Center of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of New Orleans, 60 MercuryGate employees spent the day working at two locations that were ravaged by hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005.

The North Carolina Companies to Watch were selected from an initial pool of more than 200 nominees from across North Carolina. They are privately held companies of between 6-99 employees and $750,000 to $50 million in annual revenue or funds raised from grants, investors or partnerships.

"This is truly an honor to receive public validation of our employees' hard work, technical innovation, customer service and founders' dream," said Monica B. Wooden, MercuryGate CEO and founder of the company.

Steve Blough, company President and founder, added, "MercuryGate's continued stellar growth is built on a foundation of a team with strong logistics expertise that is focused on delivering solutions for our customers and our industry. Our leadership in the transportation industry combined with our community awareness will make MercuryGate a company to watch for many years to come."

About MercuryGate International, Inc.

MercuryGate delivers solutions that allow shippers, carriers, freight forwarders and third party logistics providers to plan their transportation, execute their freight movements, and analyze the performance of all involved. Customers optimize loads, rate and route loads, spot quote through both private and public bid boards, tender freight, track movements, audit carrier freight invoices, and send customer invoices. Through a customizable workflow engine, MercuryGate customers are able to move the straightforward parcel, LTL (less than truckload), and truckload shipments as well as the more demanding multi-leg ocean, air, and rail movements. Customers may then analyze the information gathered as they move freight to provide key performance indicators on their internal business as well as on carriers, suppliers, and all parties in the supply chain.
