Solution Overview
RR Donnelley has significant experience in global supply chain management and provides a wide range of outsourcing capabilities to some of the world's largest companies.
1st Priority Services is the Third Party Logistics (3PL) arm of R R Donnelley. This organization used a standard freight forwarding package that had some limited LTL (Less Than Truck Load) capabilities. However, there was a need to handle higher LTL shipping volumes and a desire to have business wide functionality in one system.
MercuryGate partnered with 1st Priority Services to add some unique functionality to the TMS. This resulted in more flexible rating, EDI capabilities, electronic invoice handling, carrier terminal information access, electronic reconciliation of carrier rating to actual invoices, customer web access to information and more, all in one solution.
