Solution Overview
The Siemens strategy was a three step plan for collaboration linking Siemens, suppliers and carriers. This was accomplished initially using MercuryGate for rate optimization leveraging Siemens subsidiaries where possible, saving transportation costs and capturing critical data.
Next Siemens standardized processes and performance metrics to improve tendering, partner (carrier, supplier, and customer) communication, and reduced costs by creating a competitive platform. The Book-It-Now function is hitting 80% utilization!
Finally the integration of MercuryGate TMS and SAP is delivering a number of process enhancements by developing standardized shipment documentation, improving shipment visibility, improving cost controls, and improving the accuracy of cost allocation.
