Solution Overview

U. S. Xpress, Inc. started Xpress Network Solutions (XNS) in 2007 to build a Brokerage, and Logistics solution that complimented their transportation services offerings package. The initial plan included special operations leading to strategic market leadership. The planned time line changed with a 3PL opportunity that was met with a very short implementation time.

1st Customer – $30M Freight Spend across all modes. (TL, LTL, Small Package, Tanker, and International). This sophisticated client had 21 connections including EDI, industry specific XML; 8000 loads per month over 5 divisions; Freight Payment with EDI invoicing; and multiple web portals. This implementation was seamless and continues to evolve.

2nd Customer – $15M Freight Spend across all modes (TL, LTL, Cartage). This sophisticated account did not have as many EDI types but had its own challenges ... which were all met by the XNS and MercuryGate team. It was highlighted by successful integration with SAP with the standard IDOC interface and produced savings of over 25%.

Brokerage continues to grow! This important new business is now operating smoothly and profitably. XNS uses MercuryGate as the primary Logistics, Solutions, Brokerage and Single Source Expedite solutions!
