Connect to Carriers, Suppliers, and Customers
- Application Web Portals
Carriers, suppliers and customers can log directly into the application’s web portal and access just the functions and information you want them to have. For example, an LTL carrier might use the web portal to receive requests for quotes or load tenders, or to provide shipment status updates or invoices.
Suppliers can log into the application to book their own freight using the carriers you’ve approved for them. With complete visibility of their orders, there will be no information gap between you and your suppliers. You can also offer them a view of the KPI metrics that you’re using to measure their ability to deliver.
- EDI
Many companies have the ability, and prefer to exchange information with their trading partners using ANSI X12 EDI transaction sets. The MercuryGate TMS can create EDI messages and send them to carriers, suppliers and customers. For example, an X12 204 Load Tender is a common EDI message sent from the application to carriers. It can also receive EDI messages to update information in the application. For example, an X12 210 Freight Invoice is commonly used by ground carriers to send invoices to their clients.
The MercuryGate Communication Server can manage the connection with your carriers, suppliers and customers so you won’t have to rely on traditional value-added networks to exchange transactions.
- Email
Some companies prefer to communicate with you with email. The TMS supports this as a means of sending load tenders and receiving status messages and invoices, among other transactions. The user simply replies to the message and updates the necessary fields within the message. When the TMS receives the response email it automatically updates the appropriate fields in the shipment record.
