Track Shipments

• Access data by any known reference

  You can use any reference to locate a shipment so you won't have to manage and distribute complex cross-reference tables. All of your users can track shipments, regardless of mode, from a single screen in the TMS. In fact, you can grant external parties access to the shipment tracking screens so they can get up-to-date status information too.

• Visibility at the item level

  Track your inbound or outbound shipments at any level, including the individual SKU. With this information at your fingertips, you can better manage your supply chain and your customers' expectations.

• Alerts users to issues

  You can easily set up alert message to make you aware of certain events, such as late shipments. When the carrier sends a status message with an ETA later than the original appointment, the TMS can add that shipment to an exception report and, if you choose, send you an email with the new status.

  One common use of alert messages is for "stale shipments". If you don't receive a status message within an allotted amount of time, an alert can be sent and a report updated.

• Allows responsible parties to provide updates with various tools

  The TMS manages a reliable exchange of messages with your carriers and customers. You can use any format to exchange data. Whether they prefer ASC A12 EDI, EDIFACT, XML or any other standard message format, the Mercurygate TMS will support it.

  Another method of exchanging data is with “smart” emails. These are messages that are system-generated and contain an automated response so users can provide status updates from within their email application of choice.

  The TMS includes an easy-to-use web portal tool so you can give customers or carriers a log-in. This way, they can receive messages from you and provide updates directly to the application. You can even have this kind of interaction using some cell phones.
